Event Details

In celebration of International Women's Day, we are honoured to invite you to The Power of Women in Conflict Resolution, a conversation that aims to shed light on the pivotal role women play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.

The event will feature a panel discussion with the Ambassadors of Chile, South Africa, and Ukraine.

โ€‹According to the last data by the United Nations, over 600 million women and girls lived in conflict-affected countries in 2022, a 50% increase since 2017.โ€‹ Despite bearing the brunt of violent conflicts, women's representation in peace processes remains disproportionately low. In 2022, women constituted only 16% of negotiators in active peace processes led or co-led by the UN, a decline from previous years.โ€‹ This underrepresentation persists even though inclusive peace processes are more likely to result in lasting โ€‹peace agreements.

โ€‹Join this conversation where we will share what women's nature brings to conflict resolution.
